Thirty years after becoming one of Brazil’s most iconic commercials, “Pipoca com Guaraná” is back with a darker, more playful twist. In partnership with Netflix, Guaraná Antarctica brings the classic into a light horror mood to celebrate binge-watching the new season of Wednesday.
This time, the spotlight goes to the iconic Thing, portrayed by Victor Dorobantu, who traveled to Brazil especially for the shoot. Known for bringing the character to life in the series, he delivered the same precision and expressiveness on screen, performing everything using only his hand.
From opening a can to playfully flicking popcorn, every gesture reinforces the character’s unique personality while preparing the perfect snack.
But the campaign goes beyond the film. In partnership with Netflix, limited-edition collectible cans were launched, featuring designs inspired by the show’s universe. The classic 200ml bottles also come with a special gift, a miniature Thing, turning each purchase into a collectible item and extending the experience beyond the screen.
Choosing Wednesday was no coincidence. Produced by Tim Burton, the series became a global phenomenon, reaching millions of viewers worldwide. To amplify that impact, the campaign also took over the streets with OOH, influencer activations, and in-store experiences, proving that when it comes to entertainment, nothing beats popcorn with guaraná.
